Today, Dubai is recognized as a leading global economic hub and one of the world’s most popular cities for living and working for people worldwide.
The Taqdeer Award is one of Dubai’s leading government initiatives, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The Award aims to establish best practices in workforce welfare and to strengthen positive relationships between companies and employees, ensuring mutual rights while enhancing the quality of work environments and productivity.
Since its launch in 2016, the Award has evolved from an initiative focused on the construction sector into a comprehensive institutional platform that supports the improvement of work environments across various economic sectors. This is achieved through an integrated evaluation framework that measures the quality of organizational systems and resources, workplace culture, labor relations, and achieved outcomes.
The Award reflects Dubai’s vision of providing a productive, harmonious, and fair work environment, while encouraging companies to adopt sustainable practices in areas such as wellbeing, safety, health, training, and development. This contributes to enhancing the quality of life for workers and reinforces Dubai’s position as a leading city for living, working, and achievement.
Over the past decade, the Taqdeer Award has played a significant role in motivating companies to enhance their practices, recording 15,677 participations and honoring 165 companies. It has also introduced a classification system of up to seven stars for outstanding organizations, and continues to expand its impact to include new sectors, further strengthening Dubai’s global competitiveness and leadership in workforce welfare.

To make the labour sector a global model in organizing labour relations and supporting the workforce, guided by the human values and best practices that have distinguished Dubai.

Global Leader in Empowering Sustainable workforce Welfare and Happiness

The United Arab Emirates is not merely a financial or economic centre, nor is it only a tourist destination between East and West, but an important humanitarian centre on the international stage.
The Government of Dubai is committed to creating the best working environment for employers and the workforce employed in various industries. The Taqdeer Award will help ensure that the highest standards are maintained in accordance with global benchmarks and best practices.
It is important to recognise and reward those companies which create and maintain these world-class working conditions and encourage other organisations to aspire for achieving those values.
This recognition programme which celebrates excellence, innovation and creativity, consistently inspires companies to enhance their services and practices toward labour welfare. Taqdeer Award is celebrating new standards of excellence and achievement by highlighting the contribution of forward-looking companies that provide their employees with the best working conditions.
As one of the most transparent and well-regulated labour markets in the world, Dubai considers labour welfare as a priority and the well-being of workers vital to greater socio-economic progress.

Since the launch of the Taqdeer Award, its purpose has gone beyond recognizing outstanding companies. The Award was established as an institutional development tool that promotes a fairer and more sustainable work culture, encouraging companies to adopt practical practices that directly enhance workers’ quality of life, productivity, and loyalty.
The experience of the Award has shown that true appreciation begins within the workplace itself through clear policies, effective communication channels, integrated care, active listening to workers, and the measurement of their satisfaction. By transforming assessment results into continuous improvement opportunities, the Award has become a practical platform that helps organizations identify their strengths, address areas for development, and build a more balanced relationship between employers and employees.
With the generous patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Taqdeer Award continues its journey in line with Dubai’s vision of placing human wellbeing and quality of work at the heart of sustainable development. We take pride in the tangible impact the Award has achieved across its various editions, and in the positive transformation it has inspired among participating companies toward adopting higher standards in workforce welfare.
We view Taqdeer as an ongoing responsibility and a message that reflects Dubai’s values: respecting people, appreciating their efforts, and enabling them to contribute effectively to building a leading global city for living, working, and achievement.
As an ISO-certified company, we already have sound policies and practices in place. Taqdeer Award participation, I feel will help us focus on areas that need to be paid attention to, it will help us excel.
To maintain the UAE’s continued economic and urban development, greater numbers of overseas workers were needed, and with it the requirement of laws and legislations that safeguarded both employer and employee. Under the directive of the UAE’s wise leadership, Dubai was and remains committed to ensuring the highest standards of living for its workforce, protecting employees’ rights and providing the best working conditions.
This is reflected in several initiatives, such as the provision of workers’ accommodation, promoting the occupational health and safety of workers, the application of the wage protection system, establishing structured working hours – particularly during the summer months – and the prevention of human trafficking or the retention of passports.
Protecting the rights of workers – both overseas and domestic – continues to be a top priority for the UAE. And thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Taqdeer Award was inaugurated to recognise distinguished companies operating in the fields of construction, manufacturing and free zones in the Emirate of Dubai.
The Taqdeer Award rewards companies that demonstrate excellence in employee welfare and relations, the best employment practices, and comprehensive implementation of global benchmarks. All of these criteria contribute to Dubai’s standing as a hub for the most forward-thinking employers in the region.
