Under the directive of the UAE’s wise leadership, Dubai was and remains committed to ensuring the highest standards of living for its workforce, protecting employees’ rights and providing the best working conditions.

This is reflected in several initiatives, such as the provision of workers’ accommodation, promoting the occupational health and safety of workers, the application of the wage protection system, establishing structured working hours – particularly during the summer months – and the prevention of human trafficking or the retention of passports.

Protecting the rights of workers – both overseas and domestic – continues to be a top priority for the UAE. And thanks to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Taqdeer Award was inaugurated to recognise distinguished companies operating in the fields of construction, manufacturing and free zones and other sectors in the Emirate of Dubai.
